Massena at Wagram 1809 AAR
« on: March 21, 2020, 05:03:04 PM »
We finally managed to do our postponed 'Christmas' game last weekend and it was a cracker!  A tough nut for the Austrians to win, but the French didn't have it all their own way:

Well, all my praises already posted at "Post a picture of a game you played"
I enjoyed it much!

Cheers Din!

I was thinking that it was definitely too one-sided, so might consider adding some elements of the Austrian Reserve Korps as a scenario-balancer.  In reality they were kept busy just to the north, around Aderklaa, but they were very close.

One day of course, we'll have to do that whole front of the battle, including Aderklaa and Wagram.  The whole battle might be a bit ambitious… While I might eventually have all the troops necessary, it would require an L-shaped table 20 feet long and 10 feet across the base of the L...

Tiny Wargames.  It cost a fair bit though, as anything wider than 4 feet is a non-standard size and costs exponentially more. This is 6x8 feet.  I did however, have a PPI payment land in my bank account at the time...  :D
