Mission 2 from the main rule book - The Beacon Tower.

Again it was a really enjoyable time playing the game. I never thought I'd enjoy solo gaming so much. This was tougher than the last game and somewhat more thrilling. As usual I've done a full AAR with lots of pics on my dedicated website:

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Thanks. I had the basic pieces & I threw them together hoping for the best.

Looks like a brilliant game!
Thank you. It was a bit of a nail biter for a while.

The 'busy' table making use of different sorts of terrain looks absolutely fabulous!  :-*

I am not in lockdown (working in one of those 'essential' fields), but my wife and daughters are all working from home, and it actually leaves me less time/space for the hobby than normal so that I am not making much progress, and that makes it ever more so important to see inspirational stuff like this!  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks Argonor. I always have plenty of time as I was retired early in life by the military. But I have a bit more time than usual and I need to keep busy.

Enjoying these write ups, keep them coming.

Did you make the river? If so would you walk me through the process.

I did. It's made from 12" vinyl floor tiles with a "stone" texture. Cut the tiles into uneven 3" strips. The tiles have paper backing so I used a set of dividers with a lead in each tip to draw the lines. Cut them out. Paint them. Lighter on the edges and darker in the center. Two coats of gloss varnish. For the banks, use brown caulk and put a bead of the caulk on on the edge of each section and press some stones/gravel into it. Add flock. The texture on the tiles gives it a ripple effect. Each tile will give you 3' of river, so you can have a 12' river for about $5 (plus paints, caulk etc.)

I played Scenario II o the the second mission - The Beacon Tower - The Lower Levels. It was a tough game for my little party of companions. But now the survivors are ready to climb the stairs to the top of the tower and scenario III.

There's a full AAR and a lot of pics on my blog here: https://hwyllarosd.blogspot.com/2020/04/mission-2-tower-part-1.html

Nice reports.

I am hesitating between Rangers and Sellswords....

Who make the card (platisc?) buildings and scenery you use?

Do both - SS&SS is a great game with a more old-school RPG-vibe to it. And you can largely use the same minis.

So my ranger and his companions have finished the second mission in the basic rules. I found this one to be a good challenge to set up and it was a challenge to play. Once again I really enjoyed it and can't wait to move on to the next mission.

As usual, there is a full AAR with lots of pics on my RoSD blog at: https://hwyllarosd.blogspot.com/2020/04/mission-2-tower-part-ii.html

I am presuming most of the scenery is cardboard.  It is extremely effective.  I love your miniatures too.
Thanks for posting on the main Fantasy Board and not on that evil, smelly Frostgrave Board  ;D

This is excellent - thanks for posting these. I am now wondering whether I should add Rangers to the various other projects I have started or picked up again during our current hiatus...
