Ah ha I found an old can of undercoat... what do I do nice?
« on: March 26, 2020, 04:42:49 PM »
... so I undercoated an Imperial Assault Stormie....

Should I have washed it first?

Any any advice on how to slap the paint on?

I would buy Vallejo or Army Painter before Citadel, but that’s only me being weird  lol

Seriously though, AP is cheaper for more paint. Is the quality is good. The thing is Sorastro lists citadel...

Personally I don’t particularly like the new citadel paints. I use Army Painter washes & Varnish not used there paint, but I’ve heard good things about it, I think Luke’s APS did a review on his YouTube channel. I would get the Army Painter unless you are going for the contrast paints.

UM, the old can turned out to be super grainy even after shaking it for AGES....

So two questions

How do I strip plastic and who makes the best undercoat?

Thanks

Biostrip is my favourite, alavilable from local sources if you Google it - plenty of recommendations on here.
Dosn't stink like Dettol, not toxic like Brake stripper and won't melt your plastic/bendy plastic/resin figures.
Its also quick, dab on an 10-20 minutes later, scrub (gently) with an old toothbrush under a tap and back to the original.

I like Vallejo Surface Primer (73.602 in Black)
