Free rules?
« on: March 31, 2020, 11:30:15 AM »
You probably can guess this is a “I’m locked in my house going stir crazy’ kind of request.

My daughter has also gotten stuck back at home, as she came home to visit from university just as lockdown occurred. Besides being a 1st year student she’s now probably off until September!

Anyhow, she very kindly offered to play some sort of game with me, so I considered using my vast WWII collection, but realised she had zero interest in that.
I do however have a rather large collection of Copplestone Cavemen.

I had been using this force for fantasy gaming, but perhaps a bit complex for a beginner.
So I wonder if there is a free to download simple caveman set of rules for say a dozen figures per side??

Long thread sorry!
I should have just said,
Pre historic,
Simple
Free

 lol

There's a rule-set called Neolithic on freewargamesrules.com that does Caveman combat... No idea if it's simple... but it is free!

Jade Tower do a game called "Battles before Time" which is a free/PWYW download from Wargame Vault.

http://www.jadetowerstudio.com/prehistoric-fantasy-games.html

Or if you only have a few figures/monsters etc and can spend $9 for a PDF of Savage Worlds rpg (direct from Pinnacle) Jade Tower do a free prehistory semi rpg setting book for it.
Converting Savage Worlds rpg to narrative skirmish gaming is effortless.

Depending on what you want you could use Pulp Alley rules ans adapt them...

There is a free version.

Otherwise, something more developed I think Savaged Worlds is/was free.
