Spaceship mini I can't work out how to assemble...
« on: April 04, 2020, 04:21:57 PM »
Hey guys -- I've got this spaceship I can't work out how to put together. Nor can I find the manufacturer for a picture; I'm pretty sure it's not Brigade, GZG or Kallistra...

The two poddy parts are mirror images; they have what look like attachment bits on them but I can't work out where they go on the main vessel.

No idea where I even got it from...

Anyone recognise it?

No idea where it's from, but I wonder if the parts go at the right hand end (front?) on either side, oriented vertically, with the long edges to the top and bottom, glued on the two squares that stick out slightly proud of the surface, with the ends of the pods protruding forward of the main hull?

I suspect they fit on like Star Trek warp engines.

Can you provide a side view of the little parts?

And a side view of the back of the main body?

I suspect there are male/female joints there.

Interesting that the little square on the right-side "engine" is about the same distance from the front as the size of the "engine strut" is long.  I hope that makes sense.

The back of the ship already has engines. The wedgey bit on top looks like the bridge -- that fitted into place with a couple of locating pins.

I wish I could remember where I got this from!!

Haven't a clue where they go but that is a very nice spaceship, hopefully someone will have the answer and we can see it completed. :)

The style of the ship looks like a Ravenstar model but I am not familiar with it, could be one they have designed & cast for another supplier like Bergstrom?

That's what I was thinking, too.

Maybe those blocks don't go with it.

Or maybe they are weapon pods as the engines are already there.

Might want to check out Full Thrust ships, too.

For identification, Starship Combat News archive is quite comprehensive, possibly excluding the last few years' releases. Looks like the forum still has some activity too so you could try there if LAF...fails. :o

The pods are definitely the same sculpting style and the same metal. Which could be from the US -- it feels like lead-free: has that light tinklyness to it.

It is possible they just don't belong. I might stuff them in the parts bin for now and paint the rest...

I really don't think it's FT; different metal and a difficult sculpting style: less prominent but smaller panelling.

I just can't work out how I've bought ONE lone spaceship from somewhere!!

Show freebie, maybe? However, in that case I'd assume that many others would have something similar too.

Nope, it's definitely not an ESU ship. I should know, I've got them all! The sculpting isn't in line with any of Jon's work either.

I think you might be right about it being a Bergstrom creation, but which one I couldn't say.
