Is there any truth in rumours about a plastic 28mm Italian set coming out?
Just asking  ;D

Maybe it’s me, just wishful thinking  lol

I’m sure I read it somewhere, but being an old git, I’ve forgotten!

Anyhow, I’ve got my fez heads, from Nick at North Star, so I’m buying the metal Italians from Warlord with separate heads. That way I can attempt Albanian auxiliaries for my Italian Balkan force.

Thanks anyhow.

There‘ll be plastic Italian tanks from both Rubicon and Warlord but I haven’t heard of any Infantry. That said I'm not really up to date where such things are concerned.

I thought there was a news item from Warlord about 6-12 months ago?

A very prompt reply from Warlord,

YES Italian plastic set is on the agenda, unfortunately what with the massive delays to business etc, it’s now looking more like early 2021 than this year.

So it’s looking like metal for me.

Thanks to Warlord.

Well, it's too late for my Italians, for whom I have gone with Empress. But with plastic they could easily do head variations for Bersaglieri, solar helmets, steel helmets and even fezzes.

The interesting part will be whether they go with a pure desert approach, lots of sahara jackets or variants that will work for Russia and later.

The impression I got was that they were going to at least try different head options.
So you never know?
It would make sense to make a plastic set as flexible as production costs would allow.

Great news! I only hope they will consider making some proper Alpini hats if they go for a variety of heads.. As I keep saying, no one makes a realistic alpine hat (and the great escape ones are particularly disappointing)..

Yeah, they had recently posted a survey what miniature set people wanted. They either had a few sets down for a rework or an update, and some sets that were previously only available as metals now made into plastics. I voted for plastic Italians. Albeit, I have to say plastic Hungarians might have been cool for plastic weapons of theirs. Either way, long story short, yes there are some on the way, sadly I never saw the post who won the survey, seeing as there was some other stuff listed as well.
