Board Wargaming with Vassal
« on: April 09, 2020, 01:13:50 PM »
Over the last few weeks my regular weekly board-gaming fix, as I imagine it has for others, has had to be modified to take into account the restrictions on movement and socialising.

Thus our solution has been to turn to Vassal to carry on what would normally be a face to face activity, using social media platforms to chat whilst sharing a game.

We have recently concluded a game of Columbia Games War of 1812 and are now up and running with Break out Normandy.

In addition I have been trying the platform out for solo gaming and have just got back into an old familiar game that has been transformed by the Vassal module that will run it instead of the old print and play version

If you are interested in the games and trying out something similar you can read how things have turned out and our impressions of the system by following the link to JJ's

Often it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all possible doubt.
