Napoleon’s retreat from Wigan. Wanted British at rest
« on: April 11, 2020, 02:28:35 PM »
So in an effect to encourage David. Having already beat him once in napoleonic challenge with my Austrians. Here goes with the British.

Progress will be slow because everything through watery haze. I’m allergic to tree pollen at this time of year. So eyes look like extra from zombie flick.

Period Peninsula War. Army fictional.

I’ve had this first unit painted and stuck on bases for a while. Need some guidance and inspiration on finishing the bases.

Excellent, just how His Grace's Infantry should look, look even better with red and white plumes for the centre company chappies.

Thankyou Mr Faversham.

Base on left original. New one on right. Used brighter red and brought it higher up the plume.

Just need to decide how I can finish the bases. Do like those shown in the Albion book.
From the picture though I do have some dried grass to add to bases.

Sorry Brian, are these the ones you said you would sell ?  Don’t do that, they are great!  Proper storage will protect those bayonets if that’s your concern!

Indeed, if I find the ones I like, I will have firing French.

Nice work (be aware that mounted officers usually wore a bicorne during the "stove pipe era", rather than a stove pipe as per the painting).

Now, do we have to read this thread in an Eddie Waring accent?
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Napoleon’s retreat from Wigan is a Mike Harding poem.

Thanks Baron. Made mental note of that.

Found jar of Vallejo earth texture.

Here is my first attempt. Think maybe needs a dry brush of light mud or sand.

These are the figures thinking of selling on as bayonet sticks out over front of base.
