Hello from Sunny Weirdminster
« on: April 12, 2020, 07:07:50 AM »
Just thought I would drop in here as an alternative to other sites I am active on!

I have been into toy soldiers since my first box of Airfix 8th Army in 1969, but started wargaming ‘proper’ in 1977. I am, therefore, very Old School! I drifted out of actual gaming a few years ago, but recently started again with a decent chap who lives nearby (although that has been abruptly curtailed...).

My interests are ACW, AWI, Napoleonic, WW2 Desert and 1866/1870. I like simple rules and nice models. I used to sculpt figures for Wargames South and Hovels, but now I just do a few renovations for Warrior.

I have a blog http://battle77.blogspot.com/ in which I show off my stuff.

Nice to meet you all 😘

Welcome from another oldtimer.  My first "wargames" were with the large Britains, Crescent and others then in the early 60s I was given the Infantry Combat Group and German Infantry and proper wargaming began a few years later thanks to Donald Featherstone's book.  My website is at http://www.morvalearth.co.uk/

Welcome. I have had a few bits from Warrior in the past. Going to check out your blog now.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Cheers chaps, nice to be made welcome!

Has.been - I am in Wiltshire, so sadly a bit to far away for games night! Used to visit Atherstone regularly for work, though. Nice area.

Shame you are not closer, but you are in a lovely part of the country.
Enjoy your wargaming, when we get back to 'normality'.
