Thanks Guys.

Yes, I agree about the unit sizes. I like chunky units, hence the mainly 32s and 36s, but General d'Armee isn't dogmatic about this. They also use small, standard and large units, but that can mean what the player wants - 12/16/24 or 24/36/48, up to you really. Black Powder do give a quick game but lack period flavour for me (and we have used them quite a bit for various periods). Anyway, good luck with the build up - we all need it with Napoleonics - it is NEVER ENDING!!!

Here is the start of the Russian army - just infantry at the moment with cavalry to follow next. Hope you like them.

I like chunky units too, in any case you can field a lesser number of bases if needed.
Excellent paintjob on buttons, cords and especially faces!
And I like your backdrop, as well! Cheers!

Many thanks. With three bases of 8 and two of 4, I can field "small" General d'Armee battalions of 24, whilst still keeping 4 bases, thus keeping a regular look. Prefer 32s though!!

If you enjoy reproducing the structure of a Russian infantry battalion as closely as possible, 32 figure units in three bases of 8 and two of 4 also allow you to base the grenadier and strelki platoons (four figures each at 1:20) independently.

It does indeed. To be honest my Russians/Prussians are in 32s and my French mainly in 36s out of habit - a hangover from my decades of Grand Manner wargaming. In General d'Armee it doesn't really matter that much as units are simply classed as small, standard and large.
