54mm or 1/32 figures in hard plastic?

Inspired by James's great post here about using Tehnolog 54mm figures for sci-fi, I'm toying with doing something similar for Rogue Planet; I think the unlimited movement might work really well at a larger scale. But I'd prefer to do it in polystyrene-cement-friendly hard plastic, if that's at all possible, as sci-fying up the figures would be immensely easy.

So, apart from the Vitrix 54mm Napoleonics (which might work, but would take a lot of conversion), what else is out there in hard plastic in that scale? I've had a bit of a search, but it's not immediately clear in some cases whether "hard plastic" is actually just tougher polythene.

I can see huge potential for sword-and-planet 54mm baddies (aliens, primitives, mutants) in Reaper Bones' larger monsters (ogres, bugbears, etc.), but humans of any historical period in this scale could work with a bit of conversion.

Well, remember that 1/35 is probably close enough (equivalent to 50mm scale).

Look for Airfix Multipose on Ebay.
Also many Tamiya, Dragon etc kits in 1/35.

There are metal science fiction ones from Andrea (via historex in the UK), but you may have to mortgage your house to buy them

Star Wars Command figures are 54mm and still available from amazon. Not the greatest quality, but worth checking out

As others have said, tamiya and dragon do loads of ultra moderns, including private military contractors.

Airfix re-released some of their 1/32 stuff, but seem to have pulled them.

MasterBox 1/35 are also worth a look - some that could be re-purposed.

Aha - so 1/35 looks by far the best bet, then. I'll have a thorough look on eBay, etc.

 I'm only after a few human figures to convert to sci-fi/sword-and-planet types, so the main thing is that they're polystyrene-cementable. And the slightly smaller scale should serve to make 28mm bugbears (e.g. Reaper Bones - a stocky 50mm or so) look more formidable opponents.

Historex agents sell tons of stuff in 132/135 check them out, also lots of bits and bobs you can add to plastic figures

Sorry for late reply, only just saw this thread. Look up Master Box Ltd. They do some fantasy figures, sci fi and zombie as kits. Been tempted myself with the zombies.
