Witch-King recommendations
« on: April 03, 2020, 08:40:06 AM »
Hey all, looking for recommendations for a witch-king of Angmar, on foot, mounted on a horse or mounted on a nasty dragon. And yep, I have seen the foot mounted Reaper examples but would really like a mounted one.

Not interested in the GW official licensed models.
Gods, monsters and men,
Will die together in the end.

How do you picture him? There are a few skeletal kings out there, but that is perhaps not 100% canon.

Alternative Armies do some nice wraiths, but none specifically look like a wraith king.

Since he is a wraith, I think he should be invisible or at least non-material.  I don't mind the various Reaper 'Murkillor' models but would prefer a mounted version

Thanks Elthelred, (I searched by 'wraith') yeah, I don't think a skeleton cuts it, although the evil beast is pretty good.

No, I hadn't considered AoS models.  I'll check them out, thanks.

My first thought was Murkillor from Reaper, but he's priced obscenely for no reason other than...he probably looks a lot like a witch king.  That's not a $13 looking model to me.

@Ethelred, nice find there.  Yes, I could see myself modelling robes over the armour.

@Elbows, I had thought maybe it was a larger model but there is no size indication on the website.

In the meantime, I found this cracker of a thread with loads of images of the Witch-King.  http://newboards.theonering.net/forum/gforum/perl/gforum.cgi?post=904469
