Green Steel - WW2 Russian armour!!!
« on: July 31, 2009, 04:36:41 AM »

ok - time to de-lurk again... a recent finished project,
now all boxed up and heading off to sweden!  :D

rob.  8)

-enjoy -

so many i can't fit them all in one pic...

T34/85's

T34/43's

SU-76m's

JS-2m's

close ups; really pleased with the way the weld lines and the rough cast surface
of the turrets and the hulls reproduced with mr surfacer  ;)

some WIP shots...

mr surfacer was used to stipple onto the surface of the turret where the metal was cast - to try and recreate that "workmanlike" finish you see of soviet tanks... (i'd just come back from Bovington and had been stroking the T34/85, that baby is rough as anything with weld seams as wide as your hand is long in some cases!!!)  :-*

Lovely work on Ivan's armour. I like the extra detail you have gone to lengths to reflect on the AFVs - well done.

Who is the maker of these fine AFVs?

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

thats some amazing work there, and 1/72 only as well, I thought they were bigger with all that detailed painting, could never hope to match such detail at any scale
