The botanical adventurer is brilliant. I really like the look of him. Such a great character, and a vital service!

Did a bit of messing around with the camera and the new fort from fogou models latest kickstarter to try and set the scene a bit better.

"Static settlements are rare on ramble. The great empire that once mined this world to near death may have fallen centuries ago, But the planet is still scared and the damage runs deep. The nomadic life that many lead is one of pragmatism, moving with the seasons and living on salvage and hydroponic harvests. But as time has passed and life has once again gained a foothold, so have some sought to build homes on the ground and live off the land. These settlements are few and far between, jutting out of the swaying grass like freshly turned boulders, crowning barren hills or clinging to valley sides. They often appear primitive, a result of rambles lack of infrastructure, Architectural tradition, and the loss of many of its precious resources during its time as a mining world. Still they cling to life - some acting as trading posts for the many wandering merchant towns that cross the worlds surface, others serving as fortresses, inns, temples or repair stations.

A walker home arrives at the walls of a small settlement. The town guard man their walls, hoping their spears will be enough against the rusted machines guns.

A travelling seed merchant seeks information from the town guard about any crawler towns that have passed nearby.

I've only recently come across this wonderful project. The concept and execution are great. I'm looking forward to seeing more builds and figures  :-*

"Firearms are rare on ramble. Aside from a handful of salvaged energy weapons or the mining cannons of repurposed walker homes, most who travel the grass seas rely on simple homemade black powder weapons. Because of this, those who know how to use a rifle can find a living as hired guards or trackers. Using an old bulkhead as a helmet and carrying his trusty long rifle, this flamboyant warrior has recently partnered with a travelling seed merchant as they seek out a crawler town to spend the winter on."

This chap is converted from a GW lord of the rings mini, a bit of greenstuff, and the top of an old furniture pin.
I really like the mini this guys based of so im happy to have finally worked him into something.

Now, about those crawler towns....

Amazing work!  I'm dying to see your progress on the walking village.

Also, I'm restraining myself from searching for hex bugs on eBay because I already have too many projects!
