Biblical/bronze age scenery
« on: May 09, 2020, 08:25:33 PM »
Hello folks,
Wondering if anyone makes 'biblical'/Chariot age/Trojan/bronze age buildings?
I see Magister Militium do a set of Mycenaean city walls but haven't had much luck with anything else?

Hi, without waiting for an answer to the "scale question" I'll tell you what I know.  In 28mm Grand Manner used to produce a very nice ….but expensive....range of Mycenean walls and buildings. However, looking at his website this morning most of it seems to be no longer listed. You could always contact him to enquire. Steve Barber Models produces 2 small flat-topped houses.  Hovels produce some "generic" flat-topped middle-eastern buildings that are OK for 1500BC- the twentieth century. They produce these in both 15 and 25/28mm. Baueda in Spain produce a range of Mycenean range in 15mm. They are currently closed due COVID-19.  I think they have a UK stockist ( Magister Militum?) .

For me the best producer was Monolith Designs but he disappeared many years ago. I was always surprised why no-one ever bought his ranges..

Mr Dragon
I am across this i think.. in 28mm anyway
Ok yeah Grand Manner  good news and bad news ...
I have lots of  GM  stuff it  is Superb .. :o, but hyper expensive .. :o,+ heavy resin .. hence postage is hurtfull unless in Uk .. they do have some Trojan walls not on the catalogue anymore that can possibly be ordered  ...massage your wallet first .. lol
GM do  a "Sacred olive Grove "which is a very nice model as well.

I think Bauda do a very nice Priest set , as do First Corps.. have a look.

Also Terrain at Model Earth do some  :o Minoan Temple/ ruins , they are awesome  ( just google it ), I have one that painted up very well indeed , and it was not that expensive.

Trees;  K&M Poplars are very well suited to this period , but hard to find .. and a bit expensive. try ebay

Olive trees; sorry very few options .. I used Noch , but they are expensive and not quite right .. I converted some .

Vineyards: not many commercial options there either .. maybe make your own .? or get some railway ones .
Hope this helps.

If you could remember who, that'd be very handy

Thanks for all the recommendations folks - I have ordered a pile from Acheson for now, and have my eye on the eBay ones when the hobby fund recovers...

Yes that was it.
The models are now solid rather than hollow so pretty heavy.
