Here's some of my latest work for the Seven Years War Brink of Battle Klein Krieg project we're working on.

These are Karlstadter Grenz-Hussars and Grenzers from the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Much thanks my friends! I recently took the Final Plunge after about a decade of putting my toe in the pool.

I've gone kinda nuts for Hussars, and the Hungarian Lace has been something of a challenge for me to do freehand, even after 40 years of painting military miniatures.

I will keep posting as I go. My next 3 will be from Hadik's Hussars, with my overall leader for my Cadre named Karlo Kovacs, the Killer Croat....who raided Berlin with Hadik...

When I chose the Karlstadter Generalcy, one of the things that popped was the use of Primary Colors on their uniforms. The Grenzers have been said to wear anywhere between light blue and dark blue, but I settled on more of a Royal Blue. The Grenz-Hussars were clearly a darker blue, and I really like the distance between the foot and horse models because of this, but also like the mutual tie-in of the red and yellow between regiments. :

I got a bit distracted with a Tom Meier Elf King figure from 1988.

Next up is my Hadik's Hussar officer, Karlo Kovacs the Killer Croat to lead my Brink of Battle: Klein Krieg SYW force. Along with his foot model for when he's dismounted. So I'll post pics when he's done.
