Hungarian Up-Rising Update Page 5 Staff Officer
« on: May 14, 2020, 07:58:43 PM »
Hello folks,

Its been a while having miniatures commission through Steve Barber's commission a miniature service and working on my Zulu War project, but I've finally started painting up some miniatures for my collection. A collaboration from similar folk have contributed to the on going range and my thanks extends to them also.

Some modelling was required for the Honved Grenadiers as they don't have their own command available in the range. Plenty to do on the workbench between Zulu War project and this project.

Thanks.

Steve Barber's models are full of character and he managed to sculpt the Hungarian knots and lace perfectly!
Your paint job gave them value added! And I like the priest! Cheers!

Do you have a plan for the range or are you working on what you need for a particular battle?

It would be nice to see some units.

Thank you Emir for your questions. As I'm the only person now commissioning miniatures its basically trying to flesh-out the range to capture the belligerents in the main.

Units can be made up of what is currently available  baring some drummers which are just waiting to be sculpted. Drummers for Polish/German Legion, National Guard Pest/Bihar Hapsburg (Hungarian two headdress variants). So that is five drummers all up. There is two more Honved Officers on foot to be sculpted of which one is for the National Guard units. Hussar in Pelisse attacking plus a converted command stand (foot) completes the current offerings. Oh there is a Tyrolean Jager cheering on with a bier stein.

The Austrians are awaiting a Croat to be sculpted.

Steve has not released all of the range, say six-eight miniatures, but I'm sure it will be as soon as the current pandemic subsides.

I'm currently working on a Viennese Legion with some modeling for the officer and other ranks.

I would like to expand the range with additional mounted generals/officers, Honved Hussar (1848/49 uniforms) National Guard Cavalry, artillery crew prolonging 7lb howitzer National Guard scythe-men.

Thanks for expressing an interest.

Thank you Helen.

My own interest in this period is the '48-'49 campaigns in Italy, the siege of Rome and pursuit of Garibaldi. So some of the figures in the range, the Austrians in particular, are of interest to me.

Hope all goes well with the remaining figures and please keep posting them up.

Thank you. There will be some additional Austrians, mainly, Jager, Serenzer, artillery crew/rocketeer and mounted ADC. I might look at sabre arms/helmets etc for the Perry Austrian cavalry in plastic being released.

The new Northstar 1866 range of Austrian Command will do for the higher command.
