I'm starting to paint some Cold War (1982-88) bystanders/leagues for my Pulp Alley games using G.I. Joes miniatures.
Then I have opened a topic where I will post them.
I begin with a group of generic Cold War central american Guerrillas, maybe from "Sierra Gordo" a fictional country from the gi joe marvel comics.
I was ispired by guatemala and el salvador guerrillas, the miniatures are from Assault Group, Copplestone Casting and Hasslefree.

Interesting start.

I would suggest having a look at the Gringo's NVA.

Yeah they are nice and tall.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks. I considered the NVA from Gringo40s, maybe I will take them for some other central america faction. I've other 6-7 TAG miniatures that I will paint as guerrillas but first I will paint a small squad of "Sierra Gordo" military junta soldiers (8 models), with miniatures and paint scheme ispired by the Guatemala Soldiers. I've commissioned a 3d printed M8 Greyhound that I will paint with a typical guatemala camouflage paint scheme and will be the vehicle of "Sierra Gorda" soldiers. Here a picture of the 3d printed model, scale 1/56.

I agree with Commissar Moody about the interesting ideas.

I have to ask, what was wrong wit the existing 1/56 scale Greyhounds?

Nothing wrong, the 3d print was just cheaper and I can have it from a local friend ;)

An officer for the "Sierra Gordo" Military Junta. It will lead a group of soldiers against the Guerrillas.
The paint scheme is ispired by Cold War Guatemala soldiers/officers.

Very much in style with the subject matter. The bright colours really evoke that certain 1980s' toys' flair.
