MUSKETS & TOMAHAWKS 2 - ANYONE PLAYED IT YET?
« on: May 22, 2020, 05:29:51 PM »
Studio Tomahawk had the bad luck to release the 2nd edition of M&T just as the pandemic got going.  I'm a great fan of the
original version, and was wondering if anyone out there has played the new version yet.
If so, what's your take on them?
Are they an improvement?
More complex?

Thanks!

I have not yet played them, but since you brought them up, I was wondering if everybody got the non-English tokens with their set?  I found it odd that the rules have the English version to photocopy, but the actual cardboard tokens that I paid for were not.  Kind of annoying.

I have not gotten a chance to play yet but I did prime my Indian's for painting. So some progress.

The tokens are printed on both sides.  English is on the other side hidden by the packaging.

The latest issue of WSS magazine has a review of the game (WSS#108, p.77). Just a mini review, but judging from it they did some fine-tuning to the rules, expand them to be used for all sorts of black powdery conflicts with supplement books to come (first one's out called Redcoats and Tomahawks and I think it's priced at GBP 12.00). The reviewer concludes that he liked M&T, but likes M&T2 better.
