If you're interested in a Junglie's view of the conflict have a read of Scram!: The Gripping First-hand Account of the Helicopter War in the Falklands by Harry Benson - a mate of mine gets a few mentions due to his propensity for crashing Wessex - in very bad weather in his defence.

not seen that one - will seek it out, thanks for the recommendation 👍

Finished the shiny on first board, got sidetracked with other stuff so not much further progress otherwise...

Will mock up an bit more coastline this week - suitably flexible enough to do for Norway 1940 or some commando Raids

Anyone know if the OP "bobhope" is still around here? No recent login, but I am wondering if there were any more updates on this scenery set?

so... 3yrs later and finally got some more of this done
got stuck after the first test figure-took far too long, didnt really work, so went to the bottom drawer

dug them back out last week, settled on a quicker way to get the marines looking someway acceptable

most of the boards for this got used for other games in the end, and the marines more likely to see service fighting Daleks and Cybermen, but happy they're out of the drawers,

will put in an order for some Argentinian troops when next shopping, should hopefully be a little quicker to paint...

Nicely done  8)

Glad you have returned to this, as I had missed it first time around.

Long ago I thought about a game based on the Argentine capture of South Georgia, but just never got around to it; having to start from scratch.  There is a small local link in that I was born in the same town as Lt Keith Mills, who led the defence with 'Mills Marauders'.  Very interested to see if you return to develop the original project.

If you don't already have a copy, try and find 'Operation Paraquat: The Battle for South Georgia by Roger Perkins, 1986. (ISBN: 0-9482-5113-1)  Lots of useful info but not sure how easy (or cheap) it is to get now  https://wiganlanebooks.co.uk/books/military/royal-navy/operation-paraquat-the-battle-for-south-georgia/

I'm watching this thread with interest. I'm sure it will give me ideas to help my British take on Zona Alfa, set in the same era.

Nice project! (when I read the topic name, I assumed either a modern ACW or a Caucasian conflict- geographers need to be more creative regarding the names I guess :P )
