Modeling Thorn Boma. How are people doing it?

So Thorn Boma seems to have been a relatively common feature in late 19th century African warfare. I reckon it would be a useful addition to my scenery collection usable by several different armies. Google images has thrown up some images of modern boma (complete with plastic litter) that I assume wouldn't differ much from those built in yesteryear. I didn't find any pictures of any boma built for wargames though. So has anyone built any for their games? What materials did you use? pictures would be cool. basically I'm looking for ideas/inspiration from what others have done.

I used rubberised horsehair like the chap uses in the link provided.

There’s a product you can pick up in a lot of hardware outlets and nurseries in Oz designed to sit in the pots of indoor plants. It’s a bit like rubberised horsehair but cheaper and the bags they sell it in here would probably give you a table’s worth. Can’t think of the name off-hand if I come across the bag I’ll let you know.

Coconut Fibre. My bag is by Brunnings. It's also good for foliage for trees, which is why I have a bag.

That’s the one! If you are making dried foliage, it needs no painting.

Thanks guys. Strangely I already have a load of coca fibre, that I get free from work (we use it for lining hanging baskets), that I've used for making trees. My original idea was to use the coca fibre to make the boma but I thought id see what others where using/doing first...looks like I was already on the right track

I guess I may be purloining some of the wife's coconut fiber from her hanging baskets.  Shh, no one tell her, okay?!
