And here's a new blog post with some photos of the model:

Would you be offended if I said the Stug IV is an ugly vehicle (love the III though).  But wow, you did a fantastic job on it.  That camo looks great!  There is so much effort put in with hairspray chipping and the like to get a kind of worn look.  Your technique with the sponge is awesome.

The dirt and grime looks great too.

Is this a display piece or do you plan to game with it?

Ha ha, no offence at all. I'm not so keen on the look of the IV myself and far prefer the III, but they didn't have any in the shop!

Thanks, I wasn't so sure about it before starting, but I'm pleased with the end result.

This is a display model, I have a cabinet full of my models. It's the only military stuff my wife allows in the front room...

I love Tamiya kits.  They do almost seem to build themselves.

A guy at Historicon last summer was playing What a Tanker with 1/35 scale models.  Makes me think about that....

Funnily enough I prefer the Stug IV,it’s ugly with a purpose!

Cheers chaps, yeah, the Tamiya kits are very nice, even the older ones. It's been a few years since I built a Panzer II so it was nice to see how well they go together.

A mate of mine put on a display at Salute of a 1/35th Bridge Too Far, absolutely massive display game!
