Texture request
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:29:44 AM »
Hello,

after my first thread I wanted to show you my progress. I uploaded it on discord so you can click on these links. 3 of them show one of my officers and 3 of them one of my rifleman. Everything is WIP but I would prefer if we concentrate us atm just on the snow of my 2 miniatures. The question is which one do you prefer and why. Please reminder that in finland was everywhere high snow and bit wind was able to spread out around small pieces of snow.

Atm I try to make some experiements and atm I dont got that feedback what I need

I prefer the effect on the rifleman's base - it looks rather thorough and less "untidy" than the second one, and thus works better with the smooth texture of the snow itself. If one wished to let the ground beneath show through, then I'd suggest texturing and painting it properly before applying the actual snow - just the plain surface of the base makes it look unfinished, somehow IMHO.

That said, if it is possible, it might be a nice touch to add some footsteps as depressions, just to add some variety.
