Looking for Mandrill (baboon) figures
« on: May 30, 2020, 05:21:15 PM »
I looking for Mandrill (large Baboons no tail) figures in 28-35mm. I found some baboons and convert them, but the detail isn't great, my putty skills in this small head area suck and the painting was only okay.

Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot tell you where they were sourced from, but a local person used a 3D printer to create some for me in 15 mm.  I'd ask him but he seems to have dropped into a hole these last several months and not poking his head out.  Here is a photo of them primed and ready to paint (there current status):

Go from the small brown primed group on the right, behind that are a half dozen okapi, to there left are the baboons - 48 in 3 poses (two very similar) (I have an additional four in my 'live capture' element, all for my Africa games).  Below them are gorillas.  I know it is small and hard to see but its what I've got.

I would love to find some nice primates in 15 mm metal, chimpanzees, baboons, gorillas, orangutans (just because they are my all time favorite animal), and various monkeys.  As to the gorillas, I want naturally posed rather than beasts of fiction.

Good luck on your hunt!
