Apes from S.P.A.C.E.
« on: August 03, 2009, 08:53:15 PM »
Gentlemen, what you are about to see is classified Above Top Secret.

Aside from those of you in this room, only the President and the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been briefed. If word of the project gets out, we are authorised to employ maximum deniability.

Maximum deniability with extreme prejudice.

I trust that is clear? Good.

Then let me introduce Massive Potential's newest weapon in the ongoing war on superpowered and occult terror organisations - the Simian Project (Avanced Combat and Exploration).

From left to right we have our basic combat models, codenamed Curly, Larry and Moe. Moe carries the squad support weapon and is equiped with the latest model Heavy Augmentation, Reaction and Defence (or HARD) Suit.

In the centre, in the yellow flightsuit, we have the team leader, Commander Babette.

To her right is her second in command, Lt. Ham.

Finally, in the blue flightsuit is the team scientific officer and field medic, Dr. Bobo.

They are trained in all manner of combat disciplines, and educated to a higher standard than most of you here today. Dr Bobo alone holds four PHDs in a staggering variety of fields.

They are intelligent, highly motivated, and equiped with the best arms and armour money can buy. They are living weapons with six times the strength, and three times the intelligence of a regular Army soldier.

Do not offer them a peanut.

That's awesome! Is the Commander actually simian? She seems more like a very hairy sapien.  lol

Thank you.  :)

Cmdr Babette is indeed simian. The enhancement procedure works differently on each specimen - you'll notice that Curly does not look particularly evolved in comparrison. Usually, the higher the intelligence required in the subject, the more human looking they are after the procedure.

Something went wrong with Dr Bobo, as he gained phenomenal intelligence, but retained his original appearance.

The lab tech we deemed responsible has been... disciplined.

Fantastic  :-*

What cool figures.

Geat stuff, who makes these?

I *think* that the big guy, "Moe" is an AT-43 figure and that the others are Eureka figures.

Thanks everyone.  :)

I dont have a clue what you are doing here but it looks like you are doing it well ;D

You expect me to know what I'm doing? I just thought they'd be funny. And they were a birthday present, so I've got to show willing.  ;)

Yep.

I have the Eureka Gibbons too, and I think I'll have to get the rest of the boiler-suited apes. Really good fun to paint.

Utter, utter madness and lunacy. I love it. Beautifully executed stuff JB. :)

Ta.

Some folk on Frothers have asked for better pics of individuals, especially big Moe, and if people are interested I will post them here as well. Probably tomorrow some time as I won't get chance to take any more tonight.

Never a dull moment with JollyBob! You never know what delightful whimsy is going to pop up next  lol

I love the colour scheme - tell me banana yellow was a deliberate choice for Commander Babette...  ;)

It was actually meant to be a more golden yellow than banana. The apes do love Star Trek, see. So golden yellow for the commander, blue for the science guy and red uniforms for the disposable grunts.

I've never been described as whimsical before. Directionless and easily distracted, yes. I think I prefer whimsical.
