Bronze Age Winter War.
Basically i have always wanted to do winter wargames terrain, but i also want to do some ancient greek (or greek myth) or some sort of bronze age Runequest inspired collection.
Since i am such a slow painter i will never get round to doing all the ideas i have, so some of them get mixed together.
After seeing some of the fantastic Angus McBride artwork with ancient warriors in winter i knew what i wanted to do.

Edit:
I have started a parallel thread - Bronze Age Winter Fantasy- on the Fantasy board (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=125554.0). I know that a certain amount of fantasy is ok on this board but as i was not sure where this slightly Runequest/Glorantha and Micheal Moorcock/Rodney Mathews inspired journey was leading i thought it was better to split it.

and also this one (author unknown)

I love all the kitbashing that is being done at the moment (Frostgrave, AOS28, Oathmark etc.) so with this idea i could have a bash as well.
Started with some plastic Victrix Romes allied legions and just added some greenstuff (or card) cloaks and fur.

Oooh!
Looking forward to seeing where this goes. I have been playing around using the Wargames Atlantic Dark Ages Irish to make bronze age bandits. The sprue comes with 4 tunic/bare legged bodies, 2 trousers/bare torsos, 2 dogs and 2 cloaks - it might be handy?

The winter soldiers are pretty cool looking and different.
I do love a bit of bronze age fantasy.
Have been running a small mini campaign set in an alternative Egypt.

The irish sprue looks good but at the moment i am waiting for a handfull of single sprues i have ordered from ebay uk , greek hoplites, frostgrave barbarians and female soldiers etc. So i will have enough to play with for a while.

I checked out your bronze age Egypt thread and hope you continue it. I would like to see where it goes.

Thanks, although the full wolf skin came from a pack of animal skins i picked up at Tactica in february (I think from Stronghold Terrain, but i can't find it on their website). Since it was made of some sort of plastic i put it in boiling water for a while until it was soft enough to wrap it over the miniature

Thanks James. I have been been doing next to nothing in the hobby for a couple of years and its great to be back. Nice to see your Mars thread is still going strong.

Made a few pieces of generic scenery that i could use for all sorts of winter games (or even as snow covered islands for something like WW2 Cruel Seas games in the Baltic, Russians vs Finns......Damn!! so many ideas, so little time)
The Battlemat is a frozen lake mat from an Italian company called PWorks. Really happy with the mat. Can recomend them.
