Small Ship Actions 1793 - Devon Wargames Group
« on: February 27, 2022, 08:16:25 PM »
The small ships were out on the table this weekend at the Devon Wargames Group as we got to grips with three historical scenarios from the first year of the French Revolutionary War.

These actions are all based on the accounts given in William James' history using the details therein to try and capture the individual situations and setups.

The ships models are beautiful, and the Perspex bases work very well . I’m currently listening to the Jack Aubrey novels on the I Pad .

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for your comments. I’m having a lot of fun reasearching and now playing these small actions with the plan to get a solid collection of them prepared so as to be able to set up a game or two as required but with plenty of history and variety thrown in as well.

Belisarius - Jack Aubrey is my favourite set of novels, having read Bolitho, Hornblower and a few others. I’m about halfway through the series but am saving the rest to accompany me on a rather long holiday abroad, so am currently working my way throw Clowes’ history in the meantime, with a planned visit to Hartlepool and HMS Trincomalee coming up in the next week or two, weather permitting!

Cheers
JJ
