Peoples Liberation Army. My forces for Tomorrows War.
« on: June 24, 2020, 11:37:32 PM »
I blogged about the OpFor for my Tomorrows War solo games, the PLA. I'm using the 25mm ESU naval troops from GZG, they'll do double duty as the DPRG in the Second Glory War once I'm done ironing out my game mechanics with this campaign.

I'm finishing up the colonial Militia this week and will post some more photos and a write up of them next week hopefully.

I'm really liking this project of yours! Nice paint jobs. Please keep posting pics. It's very motivational for me to work on my 25mms sci-fi troops!

Thanks

Is that tank a painted up Green Army man tank?

The PLA looks good and I enjoy a good game of Tomorrow's War!

It is indeed a painted up plastic knock off of a Timmee tank. They looks great in the background. I did a post about it and a couple other things here

Your paint job definitely improves their look.  For terrain you can't beat the price.

Yeah they're 'close enough' for the wrecks in just about every aspect. Close enough to scale, close enough with the level of detail, very durable, paint up well as wrecks. It's hard to justify turning a $30-40 gaming piece into a wreck, or taking the time to build a cheap scale model that'll be too fragile for gaming use. But $1 for a tank that can be run over by a car and still be plopped down on the table? Score!

I'm taking larger Dollar Store Merkava tanks and using sculpey to create hover tanks out of them for my 25mm scifi figs. I'm also using Battlefield Evolution Chinese and soviet near future tanks and vehicles with them. Heritage figs made a 25mm scifi range called Gattaca that has some EXCELLENT power armored troops. I'm using those too. I use West End Games Star Wars, Battletech, Grenadier, Heritage, Gzg and a couple of other ranges for figs. I love the scale!

Thanks.

John
