How many figures/units would I need to play these rules? I assume a 6 X 4 table will suffice?

And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Finally got that IDV review done!
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=125742.0

@vtsaogames: The game is very much written with 6' by 4' tables in mind.  You can go to helion wargames' website to find some free-to-download scenarios for the game.

In general I'd say it's about from 10 or 12 units per side up to [open ended]. But it certainly is written for big battles.

Great review, Thanks!

It looks like I could get these rules and still use the same units for Tilly's Very bad Day if that floats my boat. I look forward to your battle reports.

Edit: rules ordered.

So I decided to order IDV a little while ago and they showed up from the UK far quicker than I was expecting, along with another book from Helion's Century of the Soldier line.

I've only skimmed through the rules but combined with the reviews that came out while my copy was en route to me, I like what I see.

I think I'll do some dry runs with cardstock bases just to test things solo, and then look into 2mm Forward March 3d printed stuff for a couple of quick armies with a real mass battle look.
