The Tai Ping in 15mm
« on: July 04, 2020, 12:56:10 PM »
I made an Army list for the Tai Ping using FoB3 and took a few pics of my 15mm collection.  They can take on my Manchu and British intervention force.  If it's of interest here's the link.

Very snappy banners.  :)

I do believe I've seen those face painted shields somewhere before - perhaps in an Osprey?  Like them and may try something similar for my Boxers when I get back to working on them.

Thanks all, I'm pleased how they came out.

The tiger shields do appear in one of the Osprey books.  They were described as horrible faces, crudely painted or something like that. That was my inspiration.

With the flags it is worth cutting out the little roundels that sit above the banner.  Fiddly, but the effect looks right.

I should receive my final consignment of Tai Pings in the next few days.  The whole army is nearly done.

Here is the completed unit of Tai Ping skirmishers.  The Army will have three such. I'm tempted to add a fourth having worked out that Tai Ping armies were usually divided into 4 divisions.  I'm not sure if the rear division would have skirmishers or not.

I agree, those shields look great. I've got a large collection of 15mm Taipings and Imperials - it's a little known and great war to game. Recognize a bunch of those figures too. Nice work.

Thanks, all the skirmish units are done now.  Last one below.

What figures and rules are you using?  I'm always interested in what other Tai Ping gamers are doing.

I'm currently stuck on what figures to use for the EVA.  Falcon 15mm would be ideal but I haven't found any for sale yet.
