Mountain of 15mm Fantasy (New 12/03/23 - Friends go Forth)
« on: July 09, 2020, 06:38:57 AM »
Hello All,

Seeing if this works.

A lone hunter takes him at a magnificent prey; a huge Winter Wolf.  That pelt would catch a fortune back at Neverwinter.

Unfortunately for the poor hunter; Wolves are not solitary creatures.

Painted these up for a future encounter when the adventurers travel to Icewind dale.

Enjoy

THE TEST WORKED, EUREKA!!!!

Hey lets try this again,

Throughout the six year struggle known as the War of the Dwarves and Orcs there were numerous skirmishes that never made it into the annals, this is just one.

The forces of Durin’s folk march to join the muster for the final battle at the gates of Moria, but numerous goblin bands have been unleashed upon the wild to hinder the marshalling.  Near the eves of Mirkwood one detachment of Dwarf warriors is ambushed.  Can the arms and armor of the Dwarfs resist this sudden and fierce onslaught?!?

Enjoy

Cool stuff!
Love those winter wolves!

Is it just me or is 15mm fantasy gaining in popularity lately?

Cheers,
Stroezie.

Hello All,

The family and I have taken to playing D&D under the current lockdown conditions.  I started to paint 15mm figures for the characters & monsters to play with them.

Here are some samples.

Female Archer (Splintered Light Wood Elf Archer)

Elf Wizard (Splintered Light Warriors of Magic)

Halfling Ranger and his bear companions  (Splintered Light)

Don't tell anyone the halfling is really a Werebear, the brown bear is him in full bear shape.

Halfling Female Sorcerer/Thief (Splintered Light)

Younger child working on his hand modeling career

A Monk Character (Essex Mini with converted Hat)

A Half Elf Paladin (Splintered Light Warriors of Might)

Enjoy

"Way up north where the air is cold people ain't got no gold, only way to earn a living...

Is clubbing adventurers that wonder too far into the North!

A band of Frost Giants for a future D&D encounter.  They are led my their female war chief with her pet wolves.

The leader is a 28mm Reaper miniature, the guy giants are Splintered Light, and the pets are Wizkids timber wolves.

Enjoy and Thank you

Those figures really make a great set!
I have those splintered lights frost giants to but I've painted mine in a more natural skintone, I kinda regret that decision now  ;)

Cheers,
Stroezie.

All adventurers need monster encounters.  Here are a few I have painted up.

The multi leg variety kind.  a few "Little" ones and their Queen.

The nice thing about this scale is I can use "big" 28mm monsters and make them "Epic" in 15mm

It appears my poor dwarfs keep getting into trouble in the caves or on the fields.

Thanks and enjoy

Hello All,

This next unit is part of my Lord of the Rings project.  I am building around the War of the Dwarves and Orcs.  The Dwarves needed some fire support and these Khurasan bow armed dwarfs are great.   I am using the Khurasan Dwarf line as my King's retinue units.   This will consist of a elite archer unit, a group of huscarls with double handed axes, and  a Dwarf Leidang unit with hand weapons.  All the shields are what I have selected as the King's colors of royal blue (house of Durin?) and gold (Dwarves love Gold!).

These next pictures represent a fun Character in D&D.  A halfling Werebear Ranger.  The addition of a bear warrior figure from Splintered Light allows me to capture all possible stages of the Werebear in miniature form; Normal / Hybrid / Bear.

Thank you and Enjoy
