Actually, the print layers make sense in this particular object, being that they are formed by layers of deposits over time. I think they turned out quite nicely. How much did the super glue fill? I hadn't heard of that before, and now I'm wondering if that would be worth trying on printed vehicles or if it would just make a mess of things. Less problematic to make a bit of a mess out of something organic like your stalagmites. Interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Hello CookAndrewB,

These objects are very small, approx. 2" in height, and the glue was messy and actually had a lot of fumes.  I recall my eyes burned spreading it all over the shapes.  As you can see it reduced the impact of the print layers, but not completely.

I would not recommend this practice for large vehicles.  I have seen other techniques, like some sort of "acid" bath.

There is a whole world on post print work around 3D models.  The glue method was just one I recall and low tech for me.

Thanks

Very Nice work! Have you tried a coating of Mod-Podge to see if it will fill in some of the lines?
Just remember "If the Enemy is in range, so are YOU!

War Monkey,

Did not think of mod-podge.  I have some, so an experiment for the next set.

Thanks

Hello All,

The Goblin horde, at least all the foot, are complete.  Hurray!  They are ready to throw themselves into the axes of the Dwarfs.

The majority of these minis are Demonworld sculpts with Splintered Light in the back left and right.  The two brands blend very well together.  The center are the cave fighters goblins from DW which are a fun sculpts filled with lots of detail.

I hope you enjoy and thank you

Rats!

Less for the army building and more for D&D and Rangers of Shadow deep.  Whenever you go underground, or into the sewers, you will encounter rats, lots of rats. Big ones too!

Just ask these adventurers.

Battle Valor miniatures which are perfect for giant rats.

Thank you and enjoy

LouieN, phenomenal work! You must have so much fun playing with these.

I will definitely be borrowing a few ideas from this thread.  :)

First goblins and now rats, this mountain is going down hill fast! lol :D
Just kidding, cool stuff.
Those rat sculpts look really butch, if a bit smooth/plain.
I may order some just too see what a bit of greenstuff could turn them into...

Cheers,
Stroezie.

Hello Mini enthusiasts,

I have two more items done for your enjoyment.

The first batch of a horde of Orcs to come.  These are splintered Light Orc Warriors and they have are very savage and full of character.  A lot more armored then they first appear.  Only 84 more Orc warriors to go.   :'(

To distract me from the orcs I took the time to paint up some medieval/Dark Age buildings.  The Orcs need a place to loot.

These may set up the beginning of a Rangers of Shadow deep solo campaign, we will see.  These come from Magister Militum.  The stone house came from Battle Valor.

Thank you and enjoy

I like the village buildings. That looks like a happy little hamlet just begging to be plundered by monsters.

Hello All,

Well, well, well what do we have here?

yeah it's literally a well.  A small accessory for my village.  I believe it is from Essex.

A friend was kind enough to supply me some painted Werewolves for D&D.  I decided to paint up a elder pack leader for them; the white werewolf.  The leader model is from Khurasan, not sure where the others are from.

I hate zombies, I really too, but there is not a Dungeon delve or fantasy  scenario that does not require some.  So I painted a small horde.  These are both Splintered light and Khurasan.  I left them very grimy and I did not even add flocking to liven up the colors.  Gross things, blah.

I hope you enjoy
