Battle of Abu Klea - part 2 the refight
« on: July 14, 2020, 04:14:39 PM »
Hi Folks

We refought the battle of Abu Klea on Monday night in the shed (this is a real engagement from the Sudan campaign) - it also gave me a chance to field all my new upgraded desert terrain (including mat)

We are refighting this battle on Weds night so a second post will follow shortly afterwards.

Easily my favourite major encounter of the Mahdist 'uprising'.

I would have given Burnaby's right arm to be there playing this!  :D

Fantastic looking game. Stunning. I'll jump straight into your blog post just as soon as I've finished cooking :)

As always a fantastic looking table.  Your write up and game play certainly suggests there was poor editing on that scenario unless the intention was an attempt to improve the game play.  I like black powder as a game set but I think their campaigns suffer from uneven editing overall.  Not sure why a consistent and clear format could not have been used throughout their campaign books.  You really should not have to guess what size unit the authors intended to be used.

Looking forward to Wednesday's replay.

The refight of Abu Klea was fought on Weds night - a much closer affair this time thanks to some minor changes
