I've always wanted to do some floating islands... Yours came lovely, as did the marines.

Tell me, does the island float across the battlefield during a game or is it stationary?

The last time I used a floating island in a game it had a chain to keep it in place.  I'm thinking in the 40K game these are going to be floating but the monoliths are going to keep them in one place because it is Necron super science.

When I use them in fantasy games they will probably moved around the table.

Great work my friend.
Love the idea of the floating islands.
One question though, are they wobbly? Because all they seem to have are a couple of anchoring wires  ....  or am i mistaken?

Thanks for sharing

It is a little wobbly.  It moves when you move it.  It just has the one anchoring wire actually.  I didn't want to add too much to make it stable as it can only hold about half a dozen models and I prefer it to look un-tethered rather than be completely stable.

Probably any that are much bigger will have more "roots" or other things supporting them.  I'd like to make one with a resin waterfall either coming off of a side or in the middle.

Got it... thanks
A waterfall would be great eye candy
I would do mine with stalagmites & stalagtites but then I would loose the floating thing....

Or perhaps fix them with thick fishing tackle & then transparent resin..for water

Or build it with blobs of exp foam & drybrush the middle part white to represent clouds...

Hmmm so many possibilities..

My main problem is where in heaven's name am I going to store new terrain  ;D ;D.... one of the perks of 15mm...... I think 6mm would be even better space wise.

I do 6mm too.  And 10mm.  The 10mm terrain is the best because it is the DZC stuff and it all fits inside itself.  I have a pretty dense city layout and it all fits in two flattish tubs.

The 6mm stuff I need more of.  I need to get another box of the Titanicus buildings.
