Yet Another Caesarian Cohort
« on: July 21, 2020, 03:12:05 AM »
Comrades,

I managed to crack out another Caesarian Roman Cohort for my portrayal of the Legio XI. For those of you not already bored to death by this subject matter, please find the attached link to my blog posting. https://unluckygeneral.blogspot.com/2020/07/ceasarian-romans-legio-xi-cohort-viii.html

Lovely work  8)

Those Warlord Caesarian Roman Legionaries look a lot better then I thought they would do.

Do you know how they match up size wise with the likes of Foundry?

They do match up rather well with the Foundry Caesarean Romans. Especially with the wavy plumes cut off like this.  Wargames Factory Caesarean Romans also match up extremely well with the Foundry ones.

Atheling,
I'll have to take Wmyers word of matching Foundry Romans but I'm glad to hear it as I've bought quite a few. They are waiting for me to get home. I'll do a figure comparison - they are popular and useful postings which I use myself.

FB,
The maimed legionary is straight from the Warlord Games metal set of wounded Romans. I did add the severed hand at his feet though.

I meant to warn people about those shots - bit late now I suppose.

I take it that the plumes of the WG and WF Caesarean's are not that great? i rather like the foundry Caesearian Romans with the plumes.

Mind, I still haven't made my mind up whether to go 'barbarian' or Roman for Infamy! :)

lol Wasn't there an old Monty Python sketch something to that effect? "The previous sketch was disturbing, and should not have been viewed by anyone." Something like that. Or am I just making this up?  lol

Here is the lazy way of taking a comparison photo:

The Wargames Factory figures have been long discontinued. I managed to score a couple of boxes from a Canadian dealer a year or so back. They are not as nice as Warlord or Foundry in my opinion but fair enough. I use them for building my testudos.

BTW, thanks for the comparison shot. Have you got one including Aventine by any chance? I have some of them and they match nicely but I've not seen their unarmoured infantry close up of in comparison to others. I realize this may be asking too much.

I am going to guess that was J and M Miniatures.
