Yes and then some. I am interested in the Pony Wars, and Old West gunfights but I will add in South of the Border. At this time, from 1830s to post Civil War the border was anything but fixed and my games allow for Mexicans, bandits and horse soldiers.
Regards Jon

Whatta ya know, this hombre was right, Harry!  :o

And, also, this hombre has some south of the border elements in his collection, The Federales (fairly new courtesy of QRF/Freikorps), El Pollo Grande - one of the special characters and his various supporters, and just some peaceful Hispanics.  Of course, excepting the Federales, all of these folks can mix quite nicely north of the border, too.  But, yeah, jony663, south of the border is an essential element to include in the mix.

I've got some 28mm south of the border figures in the stash. There's The Wild Bunch and several of General Mapache's motley crew, including the General, his machine gun and two German advisors!

;)

I do Wild West and do have a large town - at our local convention  I run a Monster Saturday night game which has had up to 25 players in it
But one of my favourite Wild West games was a couple of gangs ambushing some prospectors in a forest/river setting - everybody had to get off the board with bags of gold - no buildings required - but lots of trees!

Burnt65, would love to hear more about your collection - with pictures if you can (and not to worry about the quality of the paint job, some of us are great painters and some of us, like me, not so great - but spectacle through numbers can overcome defects in quality).

Sounds like we might have some similarities in numbers.  My long-term goal of a game entitled The Whole Wilder West, All At Once will easily accommodate 25, or more, players.  And since I game in 15/18 mm, I will have three towns on my grand table(s): Anachronism, Alkali Wells, and Lodgepole Creek, besides all the outlying communities which will include a large Lakota camp (48 teepees), a mining camp (copper), a prospector's camp (gold), stage station, trading post, army fort (Fort DisCourage), ranches and farmsteads, and an outlaws hideout, and whatever else my imagination adds to the mix.  It will include army vs. northern plains native Americans, shootouts, Apache raids, train, stage, and bank robberies.  There will be riverboats and multiple trains, buffalo hunts and cattle drives.  A vast array of western goodness.  Over half of the army figures will be involved in other than the plains war - escorting wagons, attempting to keep the peace, chasing renegades.  Very busy, indeed.  And there absolutely will be a freight train full of various libations at least partly driven by Irish teamsters and guarded by a variation on the Denver Free Militia (inspired by Hallelujah Trail, of course).  Hope it turns out to be fun, frustrating (for the players at times), and filled with funny touches to keep smiles on peoples faces.

What rules do you use for your massive game, please?

Who makes/made those figures Harry.

Brigade Games makes the Wild Bunch, tad crap as they're all carrying Winchesters, no problem tickling 'em up into pump action shotguns though. We use a mix of the same company's Mexican bandits and soldiers to represent Mapache's ragtag shower. The good General himself is a conversion from a Mexican Occifer, I tried to make him unsteady on his feet and holding a bottle of booze!

:)
