A little further study and I find one of the elements that make it work for me is the color choice for the flat roofs.  I did something similar with my Tartar Wall for Boxers.  Is it the lighting that makes church roof so red?  Does seem a bit bright but still works.  Is that a pig and some chickens roaming the square?  Animals: 'self'-mobile clutter.

The roofs are painted with raw sienna.  I may go back and do them more an earth color.

Lascaris- I've been thinking the same thing.  Add in the Rebs with Sibley!  You'd have quite a fracas with all those factions.

I'm thinking of making some Spanish colonial buildings for Blood and Plunder.   And arches are a must.  Do you have any tips on how to cut them smoothly?

Tips? Not really, I just scrounged until I found a disc that was the right size.  Sometimes it is a paint bottle bottom, sometimes a food container, etc.  the real trick is to trace the shape carefully, and cut with a very sharp knife.

I went and redid the building roofs in the same color as the walls, looks much better.  The church roof is corrugated paper, painted deep red then dry brushed.  Red always seems to look right for Spanish style roofs.
