Robotech Tactics
« on: July 29, 2020, 01:05:06 PM »
I just added the Kids Logic Minitech Monster and Armoured Veritech to my Robotech collection. Scale is the same as the Robotech Tactics plastic mechs (on the right)

You don't think it's going to have problems with recoil then? ;)
Nice models though.

From memory the Monster has a big hydraulic dozer blade in its arse that is lowered to dig in and take the recoil, but it is definitely compensating for something  ;)
They look like a good scale match to the RTRPG range. Are they metal or plastic?

Collecting for fun or do you have a rules set in mind?

Yes they are good resin sculpts. I use the Robotech Tactics rule-set, which works well so long as you ignore the Blast rule (although I think the Monster's cannons would justify a blast template). I initially bought a disgruntled kickstarter backer's boxed set to use the minis for a planned Battletech revival, but was taken with RTs rules which are a bit more fast play with less book keeping and more kung fu power kicks  >:D.

Very cool.  Thanks for sharing.

I had everything I needed for Robotech RPG tactics.  Then I opened the box and looked at the figures and I "Noped" right out.  Perhaps I should dig them back out again.

Yep.... it was a bad move making 1/285 scale vehicles with the same number of parts as a 1/72 kit. The Zentraedi and the Destroids weren't too bad, but building the 3 forms of each veritech and then trying to assemble enough for a squad, is treading close to the edge of insanity! ;D    I still have a box of un-assembled Valkyrie sprues.
The Kids Logic ones are much simpler to assemble without any loss of detail.

I finally got around to painting the Female Battlesuit. It was a limited edition gencon mini.

Looks really good.

I have a full set of Robotech models around here somewhere - got sidelined when the main fellow pushing it dropped a box on the army he had just finished building and primed.  When he rage quit over that, none of the rest of us could get our gumption up to build them.
