A few of these battles were written up in an old issue of The Courier by The Red Shadow author. I've gamed all of these related actions a few years back. Maybe they need to be revised and reissued in a new format, or skirmish book. Maybe once I get my book finished for some of the actions against Samori Ture, in a year or three. ;-)

I have a book called "The Horsemen from Beyond" which is about Samori.I have so many books I forget what I have."The Conquest of the Sahara"has a lot of info on the expeditions that were sent to Chad but it was so long ago that I read it I forgot.I'm getting old.

ECWCAPTAIN was right.The Courier issues 87,88,89 has a 3 part article on Rabih's army and the French forces.I bought all 3 issues in PDF format at $3 per issue from Wargames Vault.

There's a couple of books on Lamy,one by a captain on was in the battle.These books are only in French though.

I also bought the 3 issues of Courier off ebay as I prefer a physical copy of what I read.Now I have both.

Someone will say why didn't you print it off your computer but this printer of mine will not work right.Someday I will get another one.

Very interesting thanks for posting ..I suppose those plates are from the courrier magazine ..could you please tell us if the digital version contain also those plates and in which issue /number exactly? ..so I can buy also a copy
