I use Khurasan's 15mm armored trolls for my Uruks

Oathmark Goblin, Copplestone Half Orc, Khurasan Armored Troll

I added/fixed a comparison pic at https://www.zerotwentythree.com/2020/08/scotia-grendel-orcs.html

I should have included one of the Alternative Armies figures that Hobgoblin posted earlier. They're at the smaller end, but some of them are really great.

That is a sneaky good pick! Do you remember if they come with shields cast on or are they separate.

Cool, which plastic releases are we talking about?

I think Wargames Atlantic is bringing out plastic goblins:

I believe Northstar are bringing out an armoured goblin set equivalent to their dwarf heavy infantry. I am not a fan of plastic but I am afraid I will have to buy lots of these  :)
Current and forecast unpainted leadpile - 526 figures. Painted 2020 - 0

Shields are solidly cast on.

For me, the old Nick Lund orcs and Mark Copplestone Half-Orcs work great! Available in metal from Mirliton minis Italy and Forlorn Hope UK I believe.
For the orcs:

and for the Uruks:

Thanks, heard of the Wargames Atlantic ones but missed the news of the new Oathmark ones. Are those already previewed somewhere?

No that I am aware. They arenít available until early next year. Not sure I was supposed to say anything so keep it to yourself  :)
