Good rules for Indochina skirmishing
« on: August 08, 2020, 07:16:36 AM »
I have a collection of 15mm Eureka Indochina war figs which I would like to use, or sell if I can’t.

Does anyone know of a set of suitable rules I can use?  Not too complex and not requiring more than a 6x4 table?

Cheers,
JP

You don't say what/how much you have.
If quite a few I would recommend modifying a Viet-Nam set such as Men from Company B (Peter Pig).
If skirmish then my preferred go to set is Fistful of Lead Reloaded, & now with the Big Battles set,
larger numbers are possible on table.

Thanks, will check it out.

I like 20-30 figs max per side , in relative terms. Not looking to use vehicles.

Although not written for Vietnam, my rules Wars of Insurgency sound like they are a good fit for size of forces and mostly infantry composition. Lots of AARs on the First Command Wargames website:

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the rules...

Mike,
Are your rules based on the “Song Of” engine?

No, these are an entirely different paradigm. Units represent a squad and are anywhere from 1+ vehicle to 3-12 men. Each player controls 3-5 squads of Militia, Regular, or Professional troops. Their quality dictates the number of Attack Dice or Defense Dice they throw (DD can be improved by cover). They are meant to represent the low-level conflicts across the globe in the modern or post WW II era.
