Loving the updates on this Plog so far, couple of questions where are those crates from and what kind of basing material are you using on your merc crew?

Glad you like them!

To answer your questions:

- crates are from Zen Terrain. I cannot honestly say they are the greatest. Cheap as chips but the thin card parts tend to tear when you bend them in three (they form the outer texture of the otherwise MDF crates) and all you have in hands are pieces of worthless thick paper. I dug up that old pack from a previous shopping spree years ago, maybe they got better. I like those I was able to build properly though.

- Basing material: bases are 2mm thick 15mm circular bases. Laser cut in MDF by Battlefield Factory, a french company who even integrates the magnets in the bases for you! Texture is done with a mix of sand and cork "rocks" from Army Painter. For the painting: mournfang brown base from Citadel followed by a dry application of Mig Primer Red pigment, followed by a lighter application of Mig Light Rust pigment. Sealed the whole thing with Essence F and did a light drybrush of citadel Jokaero Orange. Pretty much the basing recipe for all my bases, I just change de colors depending on the setting.

Hope that helps!

The hab units actually remind me a lot of the “rounded” buildings in the animated film “Planet 51”.  The end results looks awesome.

It's a bird? It's a plane? It's a 15mm demo board!

Done in an afternoon. I'll probably make three more as I had four 45x45cm MDF panels cut to fuel my addiction  lol
A city tile, a fallouty post nuke desert and something else that has yet to be determined (I am open to suggestions!).

Not a lot of new stuff as I navigate between 28, 15 and 6mm  lol
I was toying with the idea of using my single based minis in element based games. Alien Squad Leader came to mind so here we go :)

Astonishingly good! Is that a 60mm sabot?

I got a whole load of sabots for ASL a few years ago, but have never played it. This some real inspiration to get cracking on 15mm again!

Thanks! It's a 50mmx50mm base made of two layers of mdf, the top one being cut with six holes to fit the 15mm circular bases of my dudes!

Aha - got it! The 15mm bases were throwing me off (mine are based on pennies, so I only manage three or four to a sabot).

They're all fantastic, but the worm guy is just marvellous!

Three more guys are reporting for duty: Vosk the Bounty Hunter, an imperial Tempest Trooper and Dick Tracer (he had a rough childhood). And a bonus familly picture!
