Draught Mules in 28mm
« on: July 16, 2020, 02:38:08 PM »
I'm aware of Tiger or Askari Minis doing draught mules for wagons and limbers but I wondered if other companies made some, more suited to Roman times. I'm not after pack animals or oxen but mules for wagons or carts.
Cheers,

Empress Miniatures has a fairly generic mule-drawn cart:  https://www.empressminiatures.com/cart2-1437-p.asp

Eureka has a donkey cart for modern Afghanistan, but it's quite simple and could likely be adjusted for ancient times:  https://eurekaminusa.com/products/100mod84-afghan-donkey-cart-with-barrels?_pos=5&_sid=9558a82e2&_ss=r

That's perfect for the Late Classical era  8)

If you are that way inclined you could always stick a mask on the Wizard and stick him in a 1/56 bus to make a (socially responsible) point :)

Warbases produce a pack of mules in their animals range. Unfortunately no picture but you could drop them a line and ask if they are suitable.  For info Colonel Bills produce nice-looking pack mules and other draught animals.

I know its a bit after the event - but there's an excellent, cheap option by 1st Corps at  https://1stcorps.co.uk/product-category/ancients/ancient-carts/

I have several Dixon Miniatures mules. I bought them for Napoleonics but I recall they suit Roman period also. They are pack mules (pre-loaded sculpts) but they have great character.

Actually, their ACW ambulance wagon pullers might be suited to my purpose.
