A9 Cruiser Tank in 1:72
« on: August 12, 2020, 03:46:16 PM »
Just to let peoples know, there's a bi-lingual German 'magazine' (more of a pamphlet really) called 'The World at War' (not to be confused with 'World at War' magazine) available from Tiger Hobbies in the UK. It seems to be a publication paired with a simple 1:72 tank kit, starting with German tanks of WW2 and then moving on to Allied tanks.

For some reason, the November 2020 edition featuring the A9 cruiser is already available. The price with postage is just over a tenner and as the A9 isn't overly common in 1:72 plastic form I thought I'd share. I bought mine from eBay, but it seems it was from the Tiger Hobbies eBay store.

'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

I wonder if it is the PSC kit?

The artwork in that link looks like the IBG models style. If so this should be a very nice kit.

The A9s are very nice, made by IBG, and I've already done two of them. Excellent easy-build models, but accurate. They have single piece track units which look fine, but can be improved by a little work on the hollowing out the inside of the track pads, and cutting a rectangular depression in the outer face of each tracklink.

We are promised an A10 before too long.

It is the IBG kit, yes. I haven't made it yet, but the sprue looks nice - a relatively simple looking kit, but with nice crisp details.

No, but the German tanks covered in earlier issues had 2 different marks of Panzer II, 2 of Panzer III and 3 of Panzer IV and I think a StuG. Someone on this thread has mentioned the A10 might be coming, which would be nice, and if they bring out other early war British tanks I'll be interested.

I also got it wrong, it's not a German magazine, it's Polish.
