ECW progress, Finally!
« on: September 15, 2020, 07:19:50 PM »
Hey Guys,

I updated my blog with pictures  of some recently(and not so recently) painted 28mm Warlord ECW units. I'll post a few pics here but there are more on my blog, as well as a discussion on how I changed the project from last time I painted anything(a little over 6 years ago)

Cheers!

Nice painting.
I’m not that keen on the Warlord plastic foot models, but you’ve certainly brought the best out of the horse. The unit of Ironsides looks great  :-*

Fab work  :-* Impressive.

ECW/TYW is certainly one era of warfare that I've played a lot but not even owned a painted unit. We used Very Civil Actions which was a good lark.

I wish the sprues were a bit more uniform in poses. so of the muskets are a bit odd looking, others are just fine. the pikemen are all great though.  you do need 2 or 3 boxes to get similar poses in an entire unit, if your doing big units like i sort of am. the Cavalry are certainly more consistent in that regard. the Dragoons and Cuirassiers are fantastic models! though it took me 8? years to finish the dragoons.  they have so much gear on the mounted models, its a bit daunting.

I do think of all the lines warlord has released themselves(and not just bought out) they are one of the best. some of their other offerings aren't up to my standards for the price they charge.

Cheers for the kinds words gents

Nice!  :-*

Sometimes it seems like it takes me 9 years to get anything finished... so don't worry you're not alone!
