Sarissa Public Convenience paint scheme
« on: September 19, 2020, 02:58:45 AM »
Sarissa make a Gaslamp Alley Victorian Public Convenience otherwise known as a French Pissoir. Does anyone have suggestions for a paint scheme? The Sarissa painting guides are fairly generic and it is some years since I saw one in the street.
Cheers,

The old cast iron ones in Melbourne both past and the few surviving examples were a uniform Brunswick green, like much of the MCC street furniture and fittings.

The few I have seen are boring black though the railings around the public loos have been a dark blue.

A quick search on DuckDuck shows new 'cut-down' versions bright red but the I think my favourite (if it's OK to have such a thing) is the faded blue/green here

That almost looks like urinal style corrosion on the broad strip around the base.

I painted mine based on this real life German example - Café Achteck.
