Khurasan's "Lime Goo" - Where's it from?
« on: September 26, 2020, 12:35:03 AM »
Hey all,

Weird question. Which movie is Khurasan's "Lime Goo" monster from? Link to the relevant page of Khurasan's webstore.

I'm hoping that the same sort of monster exists in different scales - 28mm or larger. I've had a good google, but without the name of the movie or what the monsters are called, I haven't got a place to start looking from.

Cheers,

MM.

Maybe Khurasan has plans to make them in 28mm? He just made his Tiger troopers in 28mm.

Zombiesmith, Starguard and Spacevixensfrommars all make something similar:

So, a more colorful take on "The Blob" which was a rather boring black, back in the day, though IIRC, the movie was made in black and white, so that makes sense I suppose.

The Blob was in color, which is why it turned red when it was full of people juice:

The Green Slime was the inspiration for the classic Tom Wham boardgame, The Awful Green Things From Outer Space.

The Green Slime looks pretty cheezy now, it was shown on TV during the day when I was a kid in the 80s, and it completely petrified me.

It is indeed a cheesy movie, but very fun!  It's a back-burner project here, every once in a while we decide to have a crafting night and pull out the Fimo.  Thread here:

Cat they look excellent. I love TAGTFOS it is still one of my favourite games as it’s random weapon efficacy system means each game is very different to the last. That miniature version is brilliant and each time I see it I’m tempted to replicate it.

BALM, please tell us more about that “random weapon efficacy system”.

Certainly sir, let’s hope my memory is correct as I haven’t played it in a while. When you start the game the weapons are distributed across the ship: some randomly and some in specific places (syringes in the sickbay, canister of zgwortz in the mess, pool stick in the pool room, fire extinguishers anywhere). When a crew member picks one up and uses it on an awful green thing for the first time you draw a chit and read the result from: no effect  :(, x dice to kill :D,  x dice to stun :), fragment the AGT into a number of smaller AGTs  ::), shrink the AGT down a size :) or grow it one size :o. Once discovered the weapon (or any others if the same type) have the same effect every time they are used as determined by the chit draw from the first use. It’s a great system and a very fun game that is well worth playing and owning if you get the chance.

Hope this inspires someone to check out this classic (I’m going to dig it out from Mt.Hobby and try and get my wife to play it now I’ve thought about it).

Thank you, Sir!

That sounds like it was a blast to play.  I might need to look further into this fun game.  Thanks again.
