Stoke Field scenario in new Wargames Illustrated
« on: September 30, 2020, 09:04:32 AM »
The October issue (392) has just hit the shelves of UK high street stationers.

It maintains the momentum of the previous issue as being a very good read and for those reading this forum, it includes a rather nice Stoke Field 1485 scenario by Billhooks author, Andy Callum.

It will cheer some to know that it is designed for a 6’ x 4’ table with 28mm (so potential of smaller tables for smaller games).

The orders of battle are quite flexible. You get three fixed leaders and can then choose 90 points worth of troops from a list (which reflect the nature of each army). Then each side has a reinforcement (variable turn of entry) that are valued at a further 24 points.

Nicely done and nicely illustrated and for those just starting out, they might want to build their forces to get this game to the table.

later in the magazine, there is also a nice article on making movement trays.

The free plastic sprue that came with my issue are Ashigaru Missile Troops from Warlord Games.
