May I suggest you invest in a resin 3D printer, I got mine 3 weeks ago, and now have hundreds of brilliant 15mm, 1/72nd and even a few 54mm figures, vehicles and terrain pieces

I would love to have a printer but at current I have not the space or the budget for one right now. How ever I am working onto a goal for both of those problems.  :D

3D?  Perhaps for vehicles, machinery and such.

But for most other things, nothing beats the therapeutic effect of hands-on scratchbuilt terrain.  Add to that the accomplishment high after the work is done.  Priceless.

I'm with Dan on that. 3d Printing has its uses, particularly making greeblies for terrain (fans, pipes, doors, windows) but I'd stick to scratch building the bulk of the terrain yourself. Printers seem to really shine where vehicles and machines are concerned. The only thing I can figure is that buildings tend to lean towards the organic. I think our eyes can see that there are imperfections that come from craftsmanship. Where a car, or computer, is made with rigorous standards and microscopic tolerances. Things that we no longer make by hand tend to look just right on a 3d printer. Things that involve craftsmanship tend to look wrong to me. Too clean, sterile, and perfect.

I looking into Ho Train Scale for scattered terrain objects. Mostly for bulk items oil drums and junk yard stuff, palletized items like concrete blocks and bricks and cement bags. But also small food and beverage looking cases. You have to have something to fight for.

Highlander Studios has a good group of figures.   The rednecks are some of my favorite.  They even have a zombie version of the Rednecks when they turn.  ;)

Most of the the door and window openings on HO buildings line up perfectly once you put your 15-18mm figures on bases:

I bought a bunch of incomplete and damaged sets for cheap on ebay for a PA project I’ve never gotten to.  Keep looking for kits “for parts”.
