Far East British/Commonwealth platoon
« on: October 11, 2020, 03:09:27 AM »
Following my post about putting together my Japanese platoon here's the first instalment on the British and Commonwealth platoon that will cover the early stages of the war in the Far East. With Burma one of the hot topics on the forum at the moment, this would be a platoon suitable for Burma in 1942 (and in some cases as late as early 1944), but it is essentially for the early stage of the Far East war anywhere from Hong Kong to New Guinea.

Next week we will be starting the Chain of Command campaign 'Last Stand on Opium Hill' that Mark Backhouse wrote for Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy magazine (it's in issue 101). It's a short four map campaign set in Singapore and will be a first outing for the platoon.

More about how I put the platoon together here http://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2020/10/far-east-british-and-commonwealth-in.html

Thanks for posting this , TP .  Those 20mm AB figures, and your basing , have the look of the 1940,s . Nice to see the Lewis gun included in the sections . My favourite is the 2 Pounder , the figure standing behind it is in a very realistic pose . Your blog gives a comprehensive , and well thought guide , to modelling a British / Commonwealth force in this theatre for CofCommand . Well done.
